Comparative Strength of Fibre Reinforced Peat and Clayey-Silt by Using Shredded Scrap-Tire

چکیده
The strength comparison of fibre reinforced peat and clayey-silt for the compacted sub-grade by using reinforcement technique from scrap tire is presented. tires are extracted shredded into a standard size, i.e., rubber-chip, rubber-crumb, rubber-powder fibre-polyester consistency homogeneity design mix. In this study, two types fibres used, which polyester rubber crumb. at various designated percentage mixed with addition minimum 5% cement content as binder to achieve targeted strength. specimens were prepared compacting optimum moisture maximum dry density. treated air cured 7 28 days in room temperature (23C 26C). evaluating durability effect between untreated (no fibres) (with cement), Unconfined Compression Strength (UCS) California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tests executed. findings indicate that shear increases curing period. rubber-crumb exhibits an increment contact area bonding materials soil particles, then significantly improved compressive

Engineering Controlled Low Strength Materials Using Scrap Tire Rubber
An investigation was conducted to determine the influence of recycled scrap tire rubber on the engineering properties of controlled low strength material (CLSM). With control over the ultimate compressive strength of CLSMs being key for applications such as backfilling utility trenches where re-excavation is often necessary, incorporation of scrap tire rubber into the CLSM mixture is a viable w...
متن کاملShear Strength of Fiber-Reinforced Clayey Sands
Consolidated-drained triaxial compression tests were conducted to compare the stress-strain and volume change response of sands and clayey sands reinforced with discrete randomly distributed poly-propylene fibers. The influence of various test parameters such as fiber content (0.0%, 0.5% and 1.0% by weight), clay content (0%, 10% and 20% by weight), relative density (50% and 90%) and confining ...
متن کاملStrength and Permeability Characteristics of Steel Fibre Reinforced Concrete
The results reported in this paper are the part of an extensive laboratory investigation undertaken to study the effects of fibre parameters on the permeability and strength characteristics of steel fibre reinforced concrete (SFRC). The effect of varying fibre content and curing age on the water permeability, compressive and split tensile strengths of SFRC was investigated using straight steel ...
متن کاملStrength Development and Water Permeability of Steel Fibre Reinforced Concrete
Research reported in this paper was carried to study the water permeability of steel fibre reinforced concrete (SFRC) with varied aspect ratios of steel fibres. Corrugated steel fibres were used in the investigation at constant fibre content of 0.5%. Relationship of water permeability with compressive strength and split tensile strengths has been presented. The water permeability was observed t...
